Nguyễn Văn Thương gave birth to the Symphony poème “The Uprising” in 1971 when he was studying in Leipzig Music School. It was later played by Leipzig Symphony Orchestra that year.

The masterpiece composed of 3 parts. The first one (introduction) was just like chapter I in the symphony sonata. The second (middle) played as chapter II – slow chapter. The third (uprising) was also chapter for the end – fast.
