As a dedicated researcher committed to the safeguarding of traditional Vietnamese art forms, Đặng Hoành Loan utilizes Ví - Dặm folk song as a compelling case study to illustrate the ongoing preservation of artistic values, even in the face of inevitable transformations brought about by contemporary society. By drawing on insights from related art forms such as Đờn ca Tài tử and Cải lương theater, the author proposes a thoughtful classification of Ví - Dặm folk music that is informed by other artistic expressions.
